CEREMONY OF CERRADA CEBOZO:
This ritual originates from the ancient Mexican Tradition and should be performed at the end of the 40 days postpartum or at any other time in the mother's life.
The Cerrada Rebozo is a beautiful way to honor a mother's hard work and helps to close her physical and emotional body. In the process of pregnancy and childbirth, a woman is very open at the physical, emotional and spiritual levels and may feel very vulnerable, tired and emotional. Because of the intensity of the hard work of bringing the baby to the world, traditional mexican medicine and the wise abuelas advise the woman to close her body and mind before she leaves her cocoon and returns to the world. Physically, this ceremony helps facilitate the alignment of the pelvic bones and abdomen and hip muscles. Emotionally, this ceremony helps women feel nourished and respected as mothers and feel strong again after the intensity of birth - not just the birth of the baby, but of themselves as mothers.
