The Dakinis Retreat was a journey into the Mandala of the Empowered Feminine. The
dark days of the moon invited all of the women to dive deeply inside...
and to make an inner journey towards the hidden places to be embraced
with fierce compassion.
The inner Dakini is awaken trough the practice of Chandali Yoga (or Tummo) As
a breathing exercise, Chandali yoga is a part of tantric meditation
cycles for yogic heat, developed around the concept of the female deity. In
the practice of chandali, the visualization is primarily used to focus
body awareness in the subnavel area - the Womb space in women or the
Hara in men.
My first time in India in 2007, few months after of giving up my
job as a biologist researcher in Braga University (Portugal) to become
yoga and meditation teacher. During 2 months I dived in a profound and
deep journey finding myself... it was a spiritual journey adorned with
the beautiful landscapes of Himalaya high mountains. One month I spent
in Daramsala, Manali and specially in Kinnaur and Spiti Valey. Himalaya
Journey I called it - also was the name of my CD of singing bowls and
gongs, launched in 2009.
I dance the rhythm of the music, but not only... I dance with the body, but not only... I dance my joys, but not only... I dance everything that I am, but also what I am not... I dance my limits and feel myself to go beyond...
The Fierce Feminine is the energy of the Dakini.
A wild and primordial force of Nature.
The unique power we can bring to bear on the challenges of these times.
"As long as we define ourselves by who we should be,
how powerful as women we can be,
what we should look like,
through the definitions of others,
we can never know our true power and what effect we can have on our world.
